Nails Applications

There are some free application for nails lovers! Here's 3 I think is pretty good :)

1) nailartdesign
It has a wide selection of designs but limited. I can finish them in one browsing session and then u have to wait for the update-_- but on a positive note, the photos are good quality so u can follow against:)

2) Nail art technique
This basically contains videos of ppl teaching how to DIY manicure. Very limited selection as well :p

3) Nailsap
I like this! U can upload n share your own nails, and browse thru what others all over the world has to share :) of course the downside would be some bad photo images but the updates are non-stop! U will also see how some Japanese has unfathom-able awesome designs :)

3D manicure :)

I knew I wanted to do 3D flower acrylic nail art for my wedding. They always look Sooo gorgeous in the magazines or photos. But you don't really have much occasion to do this! Haha, unless maybe a special ceremony or photoshoot.. Haha, just my thoughts, cant do it without an 'occasion' backing:p

Anw, did my "research" for about 3 weeks. I enter many shops to check if they have 3D nail art. Went my regular which only has 2D, seen some design template that are not to my likings. So in summary, most of those shops in far east charge by per finger ranging from $9 to $20. And its just for classic base.

I settled for NailsTalk opp redhill station. They have a Bridal package I thought was pretty good! Mine was $148 for
-gel manicure
-3D nail art
-classic pedicure

I went there to see what they can offer and they let me choose from a Jap magazine! Do u know how awesome Japanese are in nail art??? I could select from more than 20 pages and I loved most of them! However... The first few I chose was all double flowers. Ie: draw one on top of the other. She discouraged me from choosing them which I later listened. Here's why:

1) takes too long to do
2) bulky on my nails
3) easier to 'chip' since there's additional edges to worry about.

Anw finally settle for one and was informed it'll take 3hrs and cost $18 to remove next time

Check out their web @ nailstalk.sg

They lasted more than 21 days n only a few crystals falling out. I just stick them back with my supply:)

Gel rocks! Only a pain to remove :p

My firrst Cat-Walk

Stage 1:
Designing
I can't fully claim this kitty idea cause i first saw the cat in tw a few years back from a manicurist by the street. The paw ares just fun creations everyone knows how.

PS: That which is drew with a thick pen was supposed to be my ideal kitty. But my sills with paint aint good enough!

Stage 2:
Painting base- Chose a light purple coat.

Staage 3:
Drawing kitty and paws.
Form cat with a small circle and big circle. Add 2 pointy ears ~meow~
Paws - Oval and thinner base preferably and 3 dots. In decreasing size.

Stage 4:
Add in white eyes for kitty followed by black small dots.
Choose a birght colour for the neck ribbon/scarf.

Stage 5:
Walk the cat. Let it travel all over your nails! :)

DIY-Starry Nails

Base colour- Milky pink
Cover with Baby pink for 4-fifth of the finger.
Scatter the stars with a toothpick dipped in gloss.

What didnt work out:
-wanted a neat curve edge at the cuticle, but the brush was too big :(
-Stared doming off.. i suppose if i spent enough time putting a coast of gloss over and gently press down each starry edge, it could last longer..I was impatient and wanted to get this over quickly :S
-Arrangement: 'draw' or imagine the exact place u wanna place them, unless u have super artistic mind u can immediately visualise wat is a good spot!

DIY: Candy-coloured stripes

Experimenting withte colours:

Baby pink and this pastel purple looks kinda good together :)

A-Baby pink

B-Pastel purple

Thumb-A

1st finger- A/B

Middle Finger- B

Fourth Finger- A

Last finger - A/B

Use white nail art paint with thin brush and add 5 strokes on each finger, starting with the middle line.

last finger will do with just 3 lines.

Wedding nails

Was considering whether to let a professional handle my manicure for my wedding photoshoot, and i guess i was lazy enough not to make an appointment. So i did it myself..

The following was how, ambitiously i thought I could have my french manicure outlined with crystals and expect them to last another 3 days as we flew overseas to have a shoot. Naivity you would say..
They were good and obedient for a day or two as i made extra careful efforts to protect them. and then, it just happened.

For absoulutely no reason i can recall, The crystals just came off, in pairs and pairs! zzz. so i did a last minute restoration at the hotel.. This time round, realistically without any crystals! Good thing the flower stickers remained :)
Nude pink base + China Glaze white tip. Loved it. simple and wont clash with any of the gowns u choose. perfect for close up 'hand-shot' with our rings.

DIY: Hand-drawn rose

A stalk of rose amoung the vines

To draw the rose, let the pictures tell the story

1) Put a chinese comma(mini c) in the center

2) from the center of the 'c', draw another interlocking 'c'

3) Somewhere above, use a small bracket "(" to cover

4) another Bracket on the opposite side

5) Cover the top with a last bracket

Try it on paper with some ink pen first! Ensure that none of the petals actually have contact with each other.

Complete it with a stroke of stalk and leaves or with vines :)

PS: i removed the shatter background and put the rose on solid Metallic purple instead. Better results as seen in first pic!
